A new website for a new Rebel era
Rebel Edibles already had a loyal fanbase and industry-leading products, they just weren't living up to their potential online. In the world of weed, creative websites are the expectation rather than the exception. Rebel’s old website lacked the pizzazz an industry leader needs to strut. Our collaborative approach set out to differentiate Rebel from their competition, provide up-to-the-minute product info, and integrate functionality.
Problem / solved
1. Harmonize the Rebel Edibles brand
- Rebel Edibles has several product lines that each have their own visual identities. What was needed was a unifying, overarching brand to tie it all together.
- One way I unified the looks was through dark backgrounds and thin white borders. This solution leverages Rebel’s legacy brand structure and allows the product to shine while still feeling cohesive.
2. Build a website experience that customers remember
- The Rebel website needed intrigue and more ways for users to engage with the content.
- The new Rebel site has Rozzie edibles you can toss around, stickers everywhere you click, and detailed product info loyal Rebel customers have been clamoring for. These features add meaningful depth to the Rebel Edibles brand without feeling inaccessible or random.
3. Plan for scalability
- In the weed world, what’s in today could be history tomorrow. The new website needed a scalable way to add or remove information without siloing editing access.
- We leveraged Webflow's content management system (CMS) across the site, which allows the client to update offerings through a simple custom form in the back end. Changes made in the CMS reflect in the design automatically, which means a lot less fuss and chance of error for the client.
4. Find the right integrations & vendors
- Some pages needed third-party integrations to give the site functionality not native in Webflow.
- Through research and vetting, I was able to find and set up cost-effective integrations for a store locator, a mapping service, a third-party email opt-in, and more.
