Pixel Perfect
I was tasked with photo editing for several Brother Mobile Solutions products and accessories. These photos required the most precise of edits, as they would be used across the company.
Problem / solved
1. Shooting in-house product photography
- For some photos, we were tasked with shooting the photos in-office.
- This involves many skills, such as shooting manual on a DSLR, setting up lighting, working through a punchlist to minimize tripod movement, etc.
2. Speeding my way through my photo editing workflow
- I use Lightroom to sort through and flag all the raw photos, which I then refine using batch editing in Lightroom.
- Every photo ends up in Photoshop, where irregularities are removed and then cut out from their background. Due to shadows, this often requires using the Pen tool to create a pixel-perfect path.
3. Export for the real world and organize the files
- After the edited photos are approved, we then export a number of file types and sizes.
- This requires an in-depth knowledge of batch exporting, renaming, and reorganizing to make a recognizable folder structure that can be immediately understood by the client.
